Sky’s updated Now TV box and service explained – The Refresh

Welcome to The Refresh, a weekly series every Friday from TrustedReviews where we pick out the week’s highlights from the tech world.

This week on The Refresh:

Now TV – Sky has unveiled a new Now TV box along with a range of packages including phone and broadband. New features include an updated interface, more catch up apps and the ability to pause/rewind live TV. Despite the rumours, the new smart box does not support 4K.

AMD Radeon RX 480 – Michael Passingham (@MrPassingham) has reviewed the all-new RX 480 graphics card. Solid 1080p and 1440p gaming performance as well as VR support for just £200/$200 makes the RX 480 a terrific card for gamers on a budget.

Bose QuietComfort 35 – Evan Kypreos (@EvanKypreos) drowns out the outside world with Bose’s latest active noise cancelling and wireless headphones. Are they worth the high asking price? Find out in Evan’s video review.

WileyFox Spark – Alastair Stevenson (@MonkeyGuru) has been hands-on with WileyFox’s latest budget smartphone. For just £89, the Spark is one of the cheapest smartphones on the market.

Also in the news this week:

Tesla fatality – An investigation has been launched into a fatal accident involving a Tesla Model S while operating under autopilot mode. The Model S failed to distinguish a white tractor-trailer crossing the road against a bright sky.

Android N – Google has revealed the latest Android 7.0 software will be known as Android Nougat. Due to be released in Q3 2016, Nougat introduces a range of new features including Google’s DayDream VR platform.

PS4 Slim – The Wall Street Journal has reported Sony is working on a PlayStation 4 Slim in addition to the PS4 Neo – confirmed to exist pre-E3. It is likely a PS4 Slim console would compete with the recently announced Xbox One S from Microsoft.
