New Nintendo 3DS UK release date confirmed

Nintendo has revealed the New Nintendo 3DS UK release date at last.

The release date for the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL in the UK, Europe and North America has finally been confirmed.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the New Nintendo 3DS and New 3DS XL from February 13 in the UK.

Unfortunately no pricing for the UK launch has been confirmed as yet, but hopefully we’ll find that out closer to the February 13 release date.

Nintendo did reveal that a new service would launch on the Nintendo 3DS family the same day though.

The new Nintendo Anime Channel will be able to download as a free app and offer access to Anime series including Pokemon and Kirby for free.

All episodes will just need to be streamed over the internet.

The big additions with the new 3DS and new 3DS XL include NFC connectivity for Amiibo support and a new C Stick secondary analogue for precision movements and camera controls.

There’s also two new shoulder buttons for those more used to console controllers, and the face buttons have been given a SNES colour scheme makeover.

Both new handheld consoles have also been given a faster processor, reducing the processing time for loading games and downloading digital titles from the Nintendo eShop.

The 3D Ghosting affect has also been resolved on the new models, making the glasses-free 3D a more pleasant experience.
