New iPhone 5 Pictures Show Whole Phone, Compared To iPhone 4S

New iPhone 5 Pictures Show Whole Phone, Compared To iPhone 4S

Another day, another iPhone 5 leak...

If the iPhone 5 doesn't turn out to look like the following pics, we'll eat our hats.

The latest images purporting to be of the iPhone 5 come from the website kitguru.net, which claims to have a "test sample" of the phone. Aside from the fact the pictures show a device that's very similar to previously leaked images, what strongly suggest this is genuine is that the post has been removed - sure fire sign Apple may have been in touch.

The images show not only the new phone but what it looks like along side an iPhone 4S. As expected they show the phone is slightly taller with a longer screen that's widescreen 16:9 rather than 4:3. This screen is expected to be 4in across in total.

Further confirmed are the presence of a smaller dock connector and a bottom mounted headphone socket - yes, this could still turn out to be the next iPod touch. The brushed metal rear and more curved edges are also in evidence.

Not expected to launch until October, there's still a while to wait before all these rumours can be confirmed, but rest assured we'll be on hand with all the info when it does arrive.

For all the latest on Apple's next handset, head over to our iPhone 5 product preview.

Seems like that's actually a 3D print of an iPhone 5, not the actual phone?

Yes indeed, these images look decidedly dodgy. The holes on the bottom aren't perfectly aligned or cleanly cut, and the silver material appears to be.... galvanised steel?!?

Also note that the source link has since been taken offline.

Agree with Nick, seems like someone was having fun with a 3D printer. Doesn't look like a real phone or prototype at all.

Btw, why the 4:3 mention? The iPhone was never 4:3, it was always a much less squarish 3:2. I think you've confused it with the iPad.

I agree with these guys. Very dodgy indeed, especially the headphone socket/new charging point that's supposed to be on the underside of the phone?

Looks more like a 3D printer artist's mock up to me. Not that that's a totally unhelpful thing or anything but no way is that an actual phone I shouldn't think. The only convincing thing about it is what looks like lint stuck in the new connector/charging port. :D
