The new Apple TV is now on sale

Apple TV

It’s been just over a month since Apple unveiled the next-gen version of Apple TV, and it’s finally available to buy.

The 2015 Apple TV is now on sale through Apple’s online store in the US.

Pricing starts at $149/£129 for the 32GB version, while the 64GB model will set you back $199/£169.

Orders will start shipping to customers later this week, with the earliest delivery available set for October 30.

There are a number of extras available for purchase alongside the Apple TV:

  • Extra Siri Remote – $79
  • Remote Loop wrist strap – $12.99
  • Two years of AppleCare coverage – $29

Apple first announced the Apple TV on September 9, marking the fourth-generation of the device.

It lands as the first major update to the platform since the second-generation Apple TV, which was released on September 1, 2010.

At the time, Apple CEO Tim Cook said “the future of TV is apps”, and revealed new features including a new tvOS operating system, integrated Siri support, and a touchpad-enabled Siri remote.
