Netflix wins Streaming Service of the Year at #TrustedReviewsAwards 2016
Netflix has won Streaming Service of the Year at the TrustedReviews Awards 2016.
The streaming giant, which began beaming television to us via the internet back in 2007, is hugely popular, boasting over 86 million paying subscribers worldwide. It’s available in 130 countries, and has been producing its own original movies and TV shows since 2013, back when House of Cards first arrived.
Since then, Netflix has moved from strength to strength, and is now one of the most popular ways to consume media. With slick design, an incredible roster of content, and a unceasing willingness to innovate. It’s little wonder then that it won this Readers’ Choice category,
Our Home Technology Editor and binge-watcher extraordinaire Ced Yuen had this to say:
“From mailing out videos, to streaming third-party content, to creating its own TV shows and movies, Netflix has shown that it’s always keen to try new things. Netflix has had a lasting impact on the media industry as a whole, and there’s no denying its incredible success over the past two decades.”
Better still, Netflix trumped some formidable rivals to take home the big prize, beating out Spotify, amazon Prime Video and Google Music for first place.
