Netflix ‘My List’ feature finally brings TV and movie queue option to UK viewers

Netflix has finally made it possible for UK subscribers to bookmark TV shows and movies in order to watch when the mood suits.

The streaming giant is rolling out a My List feature which allows users to add shows to a queue to watch later.

While this isn’t so much of a big deal for US-based users who’ve always had access to the Instant Queue function (which My List has replaced), for Brits who’ve had to commit interesting search discoveries to memory until now, it’s a serious enhancement of the service.

The company wrote on its official blog: “Today we’re happy to introduce “My List,” a new way to save titles to your own row on Netflix. Roll out of My List starts today and all our members worldwide will be able to enjoy it within the next two weeks.

“Our members frequently tell us that they would love to be able to set aside some of the movies and shows they discover when browsing Netflix, so they can have an easy place to access them when they’re looking for TV shows and movies to watch.”

The My List feature will also take into account the items you’re bookmarking and feed them into Netflix’s recommendation algorithms, which were previously only based on viewing habits.

Unlike the Instant Queue feature, My List will place shows and movies in order of when viewers are most likely to want to watch them (presumably based on previous habits), while users will still be able to manually order their shows through the My List Management section.

Through My List, Netflix will also alert viewers when there are new seasons available for shows and will also tell users when the company’s rights to stream certain shows in the list are about to expire.

Netflix says the feature is only available on its website at present, but will be rolling out to the company’s suite of apps in the coming months.
