Nest to unveil new products on June 17

Connected home specialist Nest will unveil new product lines on June 17, invites to a dedicated press conference have suggested.

The Smart Thermostat maker has issued formal invitations to the San Francisco-based event, stating simply “Please joins us for a Nest press conference”.

Although no mention of new product categories has been made, it is believed the company – founded by ‘the father of the iPod’ Tony Fadell – will unveil its first new devices since being acquired by Google for $3.2 billion (£2.1bn) back in January 2014.

It is expected that any project announcements will tie into Google’s recently debuted dedicated IoT platform, Project Brillo.

No word has yet surfaced on what form Nest’s new products will take.

Any new announcements will line up alongside the company’s stylish connected smart thermostat and Nest Protect, the intelligent smoke/carbon monoxide alarm.
