Naim Audio has announced its new Uniti range of all-in-one audio systems, which aim to combine your digital music collection with streaming services.
The range is made up of the Atom, the Star, the Nova, and the Core – all of which come with varying capabilities including streaming and CD playing/ripping functionality.
Naim gained some mainstream notoriety with the release of its Mu-So line of speaker systems, and now looks to have combined some of the best features from that line with the more traditional high-end quality it’s known for.
The Naim Uniti Core
The company’s rotary control interface is at the centre of the Uniti range, which just require hooking up a pair of speakers in order to use.
Once set up, the devices will connect to your Wi-Fi network, which means you’ll be able to stream music from almost any source, whether its your own downloaded music from your computer or via a streaming service such as Spotify or TIDAL.
There’s also support for Apple AirPlay, which means you’ll be able to stream music from your iPhone, iPad, Mac, or iPod Touch, Plus, Naim has thrown in Google Cast support, and Internet Radio, with the added option of DAB radio on the Nova and Star.

Steve Sells, Naim Audio Electronic Design Director said: “The new Uniti range is the result of years of development, designing and building these systems from the ground up.
“From the user-interface and apps, to the interior electronics through to the premium materials used, we have meticulously designed the Uniti range to deliver the ultimate audio performance for a one-stop wireless solution.”
And if the above features weren’t enough, you’ll also find Bluetooth aptX support, and on the Uniti Star there’s even the option to play and rip CDs.
All the devices in the range come with USB slots, so you’ll be able to play music stored on USB sticks or MP3 players, and Naim promises ‘digital HDMI inputs’ for connecting TVs, set-top boxes, and games consoles .

Add to that the ability to combine the Uniti range with Mu-So systems via a new iOS and Android app, and you’ve got some seriously capable hardware.
The more modest Uniti Core is a networked CD ripper for creating a digital library ready to stream. You can easily slot in a hard drive or solid-state hard drive with up to 8TB capacity.
The Naim Uniti Core is available in December, priced £1,650, while the Atom will go on sale in November, priced £1,600.
If you’re taken by the Star you’ll have to wait until February 2017, when it will launch priced at £2,999 or £3,150 with DAB.
The Nova meanwhile, is also available in February 2017, priced £3,800 or £3,995 with DAB
