Microsoft has confirmed that mouse and keyboard support are coming to Xbox One in the future.
With the launch of Windows 10 just a week away, there was bound to be some Xbox One related features teased by Microsoft. But we didn’t quite expect this.
As Microsoft begins to merge the Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms, it seems your new console is going to get a lot more PC-like in the future.
We’ve already seen screen mirroring, cross-platform gaming and game streaming announced, but the next big thing will apparently be all about peripherals.
According to Microsoft’s Xbox boss Phil Spencer, you’ll be able to use a mouse and keyboard with your Xbox One in the future.
“Yep, keyboard and mouse support would need to be there for this to work, those aren’t far away,” he tweeted in response to a question about the Xbox One’s potential for mirroring a Windows 10 display.

It’s not clear whether keyboard and mouse support would be limited though, for example you might only be allowed to use it for navigation, web browsing and Skype calls.
We’re hoping that mouse and keyboard support will extend to gaming, bringing the PC experience even closer to what you can get on Xbox One.
We’ll have to wait for more information than Spencer’s teaser tweet to find out more though.
