Motorola Moto X UK release date confirmed as February 1
Having launched in the US last August, Motorola has confirmed that the flagship Motorola Moto X is now heading to the UK in February.
Following the recent success of the Motorola Moto G, a handset crowned Product of the Year at the 2013 TrustedReviews Awards, the US smartphone manufacturer has today revealed that the more premium Motorola Moto X will also be brought to British shores after a lengthy delay.
As well as being brought to the UK, the Motorola Moto X will also be on the receiving end of a wider European rollout starting February 1.
The Moto X will be offered at O2 and Amazon SIM-free for £380. Alternatively you can sign up fr a two year contract at Phones 4u and Carphone Warehouse, getting the handset free on a £25 per month tariff.
For the first three months, the white Moto X will be available as a Phones 4u exclusive.
“At Motorola our roots are deep in mobile hardware – we invented mobile communications,” said Andrew Morley, Vice President and General Manager at Motorola Mobility UK. “Now, as a Google company, we’ve become the kind of company that can build a 4G smartphone like Moto X. It fuses our history of mobile innovation with the best of Google mobile services.”
Lining up at 10.4mm thick and 130g in weight, the Motorola Moto X is a 4.7-inch Android handset that, upon launch in the US featured a number of customisation options, from colour schemes to construction materials.
Although the phone’s 4.7-inch AMOLED display’s 1280 x 720 pixel HD resolution is far from the most visually impressive on the smartphone scene, the Motorola Moto X’s overall specs sheet sees the device become a reasonably strong offering.
The Motorola Moto X features list sees a 1.7GHz dual-core processor line up alongside 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and an Adreno 320 GPU.
With a 10-megapixel rear-mounted camera partnered with a 2-megapixel secondary snapper up front, the Motorola Moto X’s specs sheet is rounded off by Google’s Android OS and a sizeable 2200mAh Lithium-Ion battery.
