The Motorola Moto E might only have been unveiled yesterday, but O2 has already shaved £10 of the handset’s budget price tag.

Having been unveiled alongside a wallet-friendly £89 fee, retailer and network provider O2 has today confirmed that it will offer the Moto G sibling on a PAYG basis for just £79.99.

As well as letting wannabe owners snap up the E outright for a minimalist fee, O2 will also offer the handset on its Pay and Go Go Go tariff, which offers content packages for low monthly costs.

For £10 per month, the E can be bundled with 75 inclusive minutes, 500 texts and 500MB of data. This rolling tariff gets better the more you use it too.

Stick to the deal for three months and the inclusive limits jump to 150 minutes and 100 texts. After nine months of continued use, unlimited texts are added to the deal.

Despite Motorola having set the E’s official price at £89, the company has been open to price reductions from the off.

Speaking with TrustedReviews yesterday, the company’s Senior Vice President of Supply Chain and Operations, Mark Randall told us that he expected the Moto E price to come down.

“Today we gave our official pricing – as you know many carriers, within days, will have different pricing but we’re not legally allowed to quote what other companies are going to sell the product for,” he said.

The Motorola Moto E is an affordable handset with a competitive array of specs. With the handset’s 4.3-inch display packing a 960 x 540 pixel resolution and 256 pixels-per-inch image density, the phone’s specs sheet is further enhanced by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and 1GB of RAM.

The E is rounded off by a 1900mAh Lithium-Ion battery and a 5-megapixel rear-mounted camera. There is no forward-facing camera for selfie lovers.
