Moto Z3: Moto Mods support confirmed for 2018 flagship

Motorola has confirmed that all its Moto Mod add-ons will be fully compatible with the next generation of the Moto Z series.

Trusted Reviews confirmed with a company spokesperson that the modular accessories will work with the third generation of flagship Moto Z phones.

Which means, if you’ve already invested in one of the add-ons, the Moto Z3, if that’s what it ends up being called, will support them.

That’s good news for those considering investing in the newly-launched Moto Z2 Force, as it means any mods bought for that phone will work with the next iteration.

Future phones, beyond the third-gen Moto Z line, could also be compatible with the mods, but Trusted Reviews is confirming the details for the time being.

Motorola recently unveiled its new Moto 360 camera add-on which attaches to the top of Moto phones with the add-on capabilities and shoots 360-degree footage.

The add-on also shoots in 4K and will let users take 150-degree wide angle photos, as well as 360-degree still shots.

Motorola’s Moto Mods include such extras as an audio DAC or Hassleblad camera add-on, and attach to the Moto Z, Z Play, Z2 Play, and z2 Force.
