Moto X+1 release date tipped for September 25

The Motorola Moto X+1 release date might be set for September 25, if the latest information is accurate.

Despite earlier confirmations that the Moto X successor would arrive before the end of summer, it looks like we could be looking at a late September launch.

A DroidLife source claims that Verizon is expecting to receive the Moto X+1 by September 25, when the phone will be available to purchase.

Back in February, Motorola promised that a new Moto X would be launched in late summer. September 25 is technically just outside the summer period, which officially ends on September 22.

It could be that Verizon is one of the last US carriers to get the Moto X+1, thanks to some kind of exclusivity deal struck with other network providers.

However, we’re a little worried that Motorola will launch the Moto X+1 in a similar way to the original Moto X, in that it will be a US exclusive for some time.

It took the original Moto X six months to work its way to the UK following its US launch, so this could be the same for its successor.

The Motorola Moto X+1 specs are expected to include a 5.2-inch full 1080p HD display, running on a 2.6GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM.

Motorola’s next flagship should also feature a 12-megapixel rear camera, paired with a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. Powered by a 2,900mAh battery, you will also get 32GB of internal storage, microSD support and the latest Android 4.4 KitKat.

No doubt it will upgraded to the latest Android L operating system as soon as Motorola can too, just as its promised for the current Moto X and budget Moto G.

There’s no word as to when the Moto 360 smartwatch will launch as yet either, but it would make sense for the company to make both new devices available at the same time.
