Moto G 3rd Gen may be imminent after brief sighting on retailer’s site

Motorola’s latest iteration of its popular budget-but-awesome Moto G smartphone may soon be in the offing.

Following recent spec rumours, the device has made a brief appearance on the website of third-party device retailer Flipkart (via Gadget Raid).

While there was no photo of the device or any confirmed details about specs, the listing did mention a white colour scheme an 8GB storage option.

The Moto G (3rd Gen) listing was pulled from the retailer’s site not long after word got out, suggesting it put up by accident.

Motorola has been tight lipped about the forthcoming refresh, but recent speculation has pointed towards 4G LTE connectivity, a 5- or 5.2-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and a 1.7GHz Snapdragon 610 processor.

Although today’s update does little to confirm those rumours, it does suggest that it won’t be long until Motorola makes an announcement.

The Moto G range, along with its more affordable sibling, the Moto E, are largely responsible for pioneering a range of affordable handsets with specs and performance defying their bargain-basement price points.

If this latest iteration is rocking a 1080p display, as rumours have suggested, then Moto will have raised the bar even further.

Let’s hope the attractive pricing doesn’t suffer too much as a result.
