Moon: The lunar globe that shows you lunar phases

If you’re curious about the moon, but can’t go into space like Tim Peake, then Moon is for you.

It’s the most accurate lunar globe ever made, able to show the current lunar phase at any given time. A ring of lights emulating the sun orbits the moon, lighting up the relevant parts of it. So if you want to see which part of the moon you can see in the sky, just take a peek at Moon.

It’s a completely accurate 1/20 million replica of the moon complete with the right craters, elevation and ridges in 3D. As the ring of LED lights orbits it, all the correct craters, ridges and elevations are illuminated as in real life.

For the first time, you can get an up-close look at the dark side of the moon too (or the “far side”, to use its correct scientific name).

There are three different modes. Manual lets you rotate the sun light yourself so you can light up whichever part you’d like. Demo shows a complete synodic month in 30 seconds. And Live shows the actual lunar phase happening right now. A full rotation will take just under 30 days.

It’s passed its funding goal and still has 16 days to go. Pledge £300 and it can be yours when it ships in November.
