The brand new Doom first person shooter has been met with plenty of critical acclaim, but it has a long way to go before being held in the same esteem as the 1993 original.
The creator Bethesda even included frequent nods to the classic gore-fest, but now a group of modders are helping to ensure what’s old is new again.

The modders known as DBThanatos, Major Cooke, and Michaelis have recreated parts of the reboot in the style of the 23-year-old title (via GamesRadar).
The results, showcased on YouTube by the DOOM for DooM (D4D) project creators, are pretty impressive.
All of the new weapons and gory kills are in play, some of which you can check out in the clip below.
The project is currently incomplete, but the group promises updates “soon…ish”
