Minecraft: Pocket Edition finally arrives on Windows Phone

Minecraft: Pocket Edition has finally arrived on Windows Phone, most likely due to Microsoft involvement.

Mojang and it’s new owner Microsoft have finally released Minecraft: Pocket Edition for Windows Phone devices.

Priced at £4.99, you can download the Pocket Edition of the world building game now from the Windows Phone store for your tablet or smartphone.

The Windows Phone Minecraft: Pocket Edition was announced back in October, following the reveal of the $2.5 billion Microsoft Mojang acquisition.

Microsoft purchased both the Mojang studio and the rights to the Minecraft game itself.

The Minecraft: Pocket Edition is already available on Android and iOS, so the Windows Phone version has been a long time coming.

Of course, Minecraft is also available on PC, Mac, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and even PS Vita.

The Minecraft: Pocket Edition has already sold over 21 million copies on Android and iOS.

Microsoft also released a special Minecraft Festive Pack for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, featuring a selection of Christmas and winter themed items, textures, skins and music for the block building creation game.

The Festive Pack, like the Dr. Who and Star Wars packs before it, is currently exclusive to Xbox platforms, with no word as to if and when it’ll arrive for other platforms.
