Mojang has finally confirmed that Minecraft is coming to Wii U.
It's certainly been a long time coming, but we can finally announce that Wii U will soon have its own version of Minecraft.
And what's more, you don't have long to wait – Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be available from 17 December, just in time for Christmas.
The Wii U Edition comes bundled with six of the "most popular add-on packs", although Mojang fails to provide any further detail.
There's mention of a "Festive mash-up" though, so look out for that.

Minecraft: Wii U Edition also features off-TV play, meaning you can carry on playing on the GamePad when someone else needs the TV.
Mojang promises that it will be adding more content packs to the Wii U Edition in the near future, as well as updating the core game with free updates – just as it does across the other platforms.
"We'll have more to share on Minecraft: Wii U Edition closer to its release," explained Mojang's Owen Hill. "Looking forward to welcoming you to the world of Minecraft, Nintendo fans!"
The Wii U Edition has been inevitable for some time, especially since the game was rated by PEGI back in November.
We've still got everything crossed for a 3DS release, seeing as the game is already on Android, iOS, PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Mac and Linux.
