Miito is an eco-friendly alternative to the kettle

Most of us overfill the kettle, which is a waste of both electricity and water. Miito is a neat alternative to using a kettle, and means no waste whatsoever.

Instead of filling a kettle with water, then pouring out what you need, Miito heats the water that’s already in your cup, so you only use what’s necessary. Just fill your cup with water, place it on the induction base, immerse the heating rod and watch it boil.

It’s won a bunch of awards, and is super simple to use. It heats any liquid, including coffee, soup, milk and sauce. And it works with other vessels, too. Got a few people coming over? Use Miito to heat the teapot.

There’s also no limescale, like with a traditional kettle. Just clean the rod with running water or in the dishwasher.

It’s safe, too. The top of the base always stays cool to the touch, so you won’t burn yourself. And it automatically turns itself off once the water has boiled.

It works with any vessel made of non-ferrous material. The thicker the base, the longer it will take to boil. (A typical glass cup should take about a minute, a ceramic kettle about two and a half minutes.)

There’s also a fancier model called Miito Precise, which lets you select the exact temperature by swiping your finger along the base.

It’s steamed past its funding goal and will start shipping in April next year.
