Microsoft finally lets you watch Sky on your Xbox One

Sky and Microsoft have finally teamed up to bring more content to the Xbox One.

Microsoft has announced that TV from Sky is available on the Xbox One starting today.

Sky customers can now download the Sky app on their consoles and watch a host of Sky TV content – including live and on-demand.

Xbox One users can access a two-month free trial through the Xbox Store by upgrading to Sky Go Extra.

Sky Player on Xbos 360 remains one of the most popular apps with our fans, so we’re delighted to bring TV from Sky to Xbox One owners in the UK,” says Harvey Eagle, the UK Marketing Director for Xbox.

If you’re a Sky Go Extra customer with a Sky Movies subscription, you will also get access to over 1,000 movies, including Taken 3, American Sniper, and the ever-festive Elf.

Sky Sports is also available for customers who pay extra for the subscription.

“We’ve really excited to add Xbox One to our line-up of supported devices,” says Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky TV’s Brand Director. “Xbox One customers can now watch the latest from Sky TV with our big winter line-up including The Last Panthers, Fungus The Bogeyman and Scandal – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.”

It’s worth noting that Sky TV has already been available for rival Sony’s PS4 console for a year.
