With schedule conflicts, dietary requirements and differing budgetary concerns, even pinning down a time and place to meet friends for lunch can be tricky these days. Now Microsoft has launched an app that helps to overcome the hassle once and for all.
The new Tossup app for iOS and Android, allows a group of pals to suggest and vote on options for all of the usual variables and points of conflict, with the results displayed in a poll.
Restaurant information like opening hours, reviews, addresses and the like is sourced from Bing. The group can choose from the existing selections, add their own and have their two penneth worth in a comments section too.
Once preferences have been set, the event can be stored as a calendar event via Microsoft Outlook.
The company wrote (via SlashGear): “Aiming to advance Microsoft’s mission of helping people achieve more in life and work, Tossup is a lightweight and fast mobile experience that helps groups plan and make decisions by giving them the ability to vote and suggest choices. It’s an ideal tool to make decisions about timing, availability, what to do, nearby venues and spending limits.”

The uses for Tossup aren’t limited to picking eateries and activities; Microsoft said it can be used to get friends opinions on sporting events or which new pair of shoes to buy. The app has been developed by a group within the Microsoft Outlook team.
