Microsoft just made a bold claim during the announcement of the new Microsoft Surface Pro 4.
According to Panos Panay, Microsoft's VP of Surface and Lumia, the Surface Pro 4 is significantly faster than Apple's MacBook Air.
"The MacBook Air is a great product, but let's just compare it to give you a sense," said Panay at today's Microsoft product launch.
The Microsoft exec said the new device is "50% faster than MacBook Air".
Unfortunately, Panay didn't reveal which specific MacBook model he was referencing, nor which Surface Pro 4 model was used for the comparison.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is the company's brand new hybrid, and seems more to be a competitor with Apple's recently announced iPad Pro.
According to Microsoft, the new model is "30% faster than the Surface Pro 3". That particular device landed in June last year.
