Microsoft says don’t hold your breath for Xbox One remote play on Windows 10 Mobile

Microsoft has said you shouldn’t get your hopes up for Xbox One remote play on Windows 10 Mobile.

The new Windows 10 feature that lets you stream your Xbox One games to your Windows 10 PCs, laptops and tablets is certainly a handy feature.

It means, like with the PS4 Remote Play before it, we can free up the main TV in the house for our extended Fallout 4 gameplay sessions.

But, unlike Sony’s Remote Play app for devices like the Xperia Z5 or even the Xperia Z5 Premium, you can’t actually do this with the newly released Windows 10 smartphones.

And it seems it isn’t a priority for Microsoft to implement either:

“There are a number of considerations to take into account for [smartphone] compatibility, although technically it should be possible,” explained a Microsoft spokesperson to TechRadar.

However, the real question is whether we are particularly disappointed about this news?

After all, would you really want to stream your lovely Xbox One games to a device with such a small screen, forcing all the HUD and menu info into such tiny real estate. Probably not.

Let us know your thoughts on this issue in the comments below, especially if you regularly use PS4 Remote Play on your PS Vita or Xperia smartphone.
