Students and teachers now have free access to Office 365

Microsoft has announced that millions of students across the globe now have free access to Office 365.

In a blog post published this week, the company wrote, “Millions of students around the world are eligible for free Office from their school and today we are announcing that we’ve made it easy for all eligible students globally to sign up themselves to get Office 365 and install free Office.”

The service was previously only available to US-based students and teachers, but Microsoft has now rolled it out globally.

To check whether you’re eligible, students need to follow this link, and teachers need to follow this link. In order to sign up for access, you’ll have to present a valid school or university email address.

“Students getting Office at no additional cost to schools is a benefit Microsoft provides to education institutions that buy Office for faculty and staff,” reads the blog post.

“That means teachers can also sign up and enjoy all the benefits.”
