Microsoft launches Xbox One unboxing video, reveals headset is included

Microsoft has just published the first ever Xbox One unboxing video on its YouTube page, revealing what’s in the box for its next-generation console.

Showcasing what is included with the Xbox One within the box, Xbox’s Major Nelson a.k.a Larry Hyrb, unpacks the console piece by piece.

Surprisingly, despite Microsoft’s earlier claims that the Xbox One won’t ship with a headset, it seems that one will be included after all. In fact, Major Nelson unpacks what he calls the “beautiful” Xbox One Chat Headset immediately after the Kinect sensor.

“Both the Day One and standard edition of the console include this mono Chat Headset [with] improved comfort, in-line audio controls and improved audio quality for in-game chat,” clarifies Hyrb.

Along with one Xbox One Wireless Controller, gamers will also get a 4K capable HDMI cable for Ultra HD resolution gaming.

Hyrb signs off promising to reveal what Microsoft has done with the Xbox One power button at GamesCom, so stay tuned for that in the coming weeks.

Microsoft has also released three further Xbox One videos showcasing the Xbox One Wireless Controller, Play & Charge Kit and Chat Headset.

The Xbox One creator invites gamers to try “the best controller Xbox has ever made” and “feel the action like never before” with the Xbox One Wireless Controller’s impulse triggers, responsive thumbsticks and precision D-pad.

The Xbox One controller price was recently announced as £59.99 to buy separately, with the Play & Charge Kit priced at an additional £19.99.

The Xbox One Play & Charge Kit allows gamers to “recharge while you play or afterwards” with a 9 foot long charging cable and battery pack for the Xbox One Wireless Controller. An LED indicator in the cable itself lets gamers know when the charge is complete, which according to Microsoft’s video only takes 4 hours.

The Xbox One Chat Headset is said to offer “crystal clear voice chat” and is designed to be “comfortable for long gaming sessions”. The native plug that goes into the bottom of the Xbox One Wireless Controller also includes mute and volume buttons for easy access.

The Xbox One is due to be released in 21 markets worldwide in November, priced at £429.
