Microsoft has unveiled a new special edition Xbox One console to tie in with the forthcoming release of Forza Motorsport 6.
In actual fact, this racily liveried console is being released to mark the tenth anniversary of the Forza Motorsport franchise.
The new Xbox One gets an unusual midnight blue colour and a pair of go-faster stripes running along the top and front. It’s very Ford Fiesta ST, if you know what we mean. Appropriately enough, Microsoft claims that it’s been inspired by the all new Ford GT, which is the Forza 6 cover car.
You also get “custom automotive sound effects,” which means that you get an engine start-up sound every time you press the power button, a powering down sound, and a pitstop sound when you eject the disc. Because that won’t get annoying.
This being a brand new Xbox One package, the console itself is one of Microsoft’s new 1TB hard drive editions – that’s double the storage of the original Xbox One model. The bundled wireless controller also comes in that special blue colour, as well as sporting “rubberized diamond grips” for that steering wheel feel.
Naturally, given the theme, the Xbox One Forza Motorsport 6 Limited Edition console comes with a copy of the game itself which, as we discovered during our E3 hands-on, is shaping up very nicely indeed.

The new game will feature 450 licensed cars and 26 of the world’s most recognisable tracks from around the world, as well as rain-soaked and night races. You’ll also be able to take part in epic 24-car multiplayer sessions.
The Xbox One Forza Motorsport 6 Limited Edition console is available for pre-order now, and it will launch in September alongside the game.
