Microsoft accidentally leaks Lumia 950 and 950 XL specs online
We knew they were coming, and now we know the specs. Microsoft has accidentally listed the Lumia 950 and 950 XL on the Microsoft Store ahead of launch (via The Verge), along with spec sheets for both. D’oh!
As expected, the Lumia 950 is the smaller of the two, with a 5.2in WQHD screen. On the back is a 20-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. Storage-wise, we’re looking at 32GB plus up to 2TB using a microSD card.
Now onto the Lumia 950 XL. It boasts a 5.7in WQHD screen, a 20-megapixel snapper – there’s no word if it’s the same as on the standard 950 – and the same amount of storage.
Both phones run Windows 10.
Both will also support Windows Hello, which lets you unlock your phone using facial recognition.

The 950 XL is rumoured to support the Surface Pen, previously only used on Microsoft’s tablets. A new Smart Cover is also rumoured, one of which will feature a circular cutout so you can see notifications, similar to the LG Quick Circle case for the G3.
Both phones should also have USB Type-C ports and be equipped for Qi wireless charging.
Microsoft is holding a Windows 10 event on 6 October– that’s Tuesday – where both handsets are expected to debut. So not long until all the specs are set in stone.
