Earlier this year, reports emerged of two new Nexus phones, codenamed Marlin and Sailfish, being developed by HTC.
And while we’ve seen the obligatory leaks begin in earnest, we’ve thus far had nothing in the way of videos or polished renders.
Now, the guys over at Techconfigurations, have provided us with just that: a 3D video render of what HTC’s Nexus phones could look like.
Based on leaked images, the video shows the two phone variants, one with a 5-inch display and the other with a 5.5-inch display.

The makers of the clip have had to use some creative license in areas, particularly as there have been no images of the phones’ edges as yet.
That means we’re still unsure whether HTC and Google have decided to remove the headphone jack – something which Apple is heavily rumoured to be considering for the iPhone 7.
In the video, the phones are shown without the 3.5mm port, and feature a USB Type-C connection – all of which is yet to be confirmed as accurate.
Both the handsets are expected to arrive with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, or the new Snapdragon 821, and should run Google’s latest version of its mobile OS: Android Nougat.

Many expect the new Nexus phones to share design similarities with the HTC 10
Since the devices should run on Nougat, you can also expect to see support for Google’s new virtual reality platform Daydream VR.
To be ready for Daydream, a phone will need to sport high-performance sensors, high-resolution displays with a fast refresh rate, and powerful processors – which suggests Marlin and Sailfish will come with some impressive specs.
And while today’s video is no guarantee of the final design, if it’s even close to the finished products, expect some classy handsets to drop around October.
