March Xbox One update released, Microsoft details new features
Microsoft has announced the major March Xbox One update is rolling out today, bringing its next gen console some improvements.
All Xbox One owners can expect to receive the March Xbox One update any time from today and will notice the modifications made to the Xbox Live service.
This major update has been specifically timed to arrive ahead of the Titanfall release date later this month.
“I’m excited to share that our second, and most significant system update for Xbox One is starting to roll out today and includes improved matchmaking, party chat and friends features that will make gaming on Xbox One an experience like no other,” said Marc Whitten, Chief Product Officer at Xbox.
Tailored around the Xbox One user feedback, the update includes updates to the Friends app, turns on Party Chat by default, lets you see a list of Recent Players and adds the Invite friends to Game option to the multiplayer games.
“This update starts rolling out today and marks a big milestone on our journey to bring you the best games and entertainment experiences on Xbox One.”
You’ll also get support for Twitch live streaming, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound support for optical out and 50Hz output to Xbox One.
“We value all of the feedback we’re getting from you. Keep it coming! We are listening. We know external hard drive storage is another big one on your list. It’s on our list too. We’re working on that for a future update and will keep you posted.”
Other improvements include the addition of volume voice commands, Xbox One SmartGlass updates, and support for new Xbox One accessories.
“Big or small, we’re committed to delivering continuous innovation through system updates like this one. Thanks for your feedback.”
