EA Sports has confirmed that the eagerly awaited Madden 14 release will be renamed Madden NFL 25 ahead of the title’s release later this year.

Forging the annual naming convention, the next Madden release will see EA Sports celebrate 25 years of the American Football gaming franchise, rebranding the upcoming title Madden NFL 25 in honour of the quarter century achievement.

Making the announcement to coincide with last night’s Super Bowl XLVII extravaganza which saw the Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49s, EA Sports have confirmed that a Madden NFL 25 release date will be held on August 27, ahead of the new season.

Further celebrating the milestone gaming launch, EA Sport’s has confirmed that the Madden NFL 25 release, which will be developer in Orlando, Florida by EA Tiburon, will see gamers offered the chance to vote for the title’s cover star from a longlist of the game’s greatest ever players.

“A bracket of 32 all-time NFL greats will go head-to-head against one another, as will 32 modern NFL superstars, with the winners of each bracket facing off in the final round,” an official EA Sports spokesperson has announced.

Bringing the Madden NFL 25 cover star vote to the masses, EA added: “Voting will start on Monday, March 11 on ESPN.com/MaddenVote, and fans can tune into a special edition of SportsNation at 4:00pm EST on ESPN2 for the live unveil of the brackets.”

I am a Bears fan, and I don't want to see any Bears player on the cover.....love the game but remember the Madden Curse! FYI, Ray Lewis yes was in the opening movie.....NOT on the cover.

Megatron was on the cover on this one, and he broke Jerry Rice's single season receiving record.....
