UPDATE: Lords of the Fallen is coming to Android and iOS devices in 2015, but it will be a "brand new" experience rather than a port.

CI Games has confirmed that the mobile game coming out next year won't be a direct port of the Xbox One, PS4 and PC game released earlier this year.

Instead it will be an entirely new experience set within the Lords of the Fallen world.

"We're currently working on a mobile game that takes place in the Lords of the Fallen universe, which we're aiming to launch on iOS and Android in 2015," explained CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski.

"It will not be a straight port of the game though, but rather a brand new Lords of the Fallen experience. More details on that are still to come."

Original Story: Lords of the Fallen is coming to Android and iOS devices in 2015.

According to the official Lords of the Fallen Twitter account, the game is being ported to Android and iOS devices at some point next year.

“Update: Console and PC RPG #LordsoftheFallen will be released on iOS and Android devices in 2015,” read the official tweet.

This is rather interesting news because the game isn’t even available on last-gen consoles, launching only for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC in late October.

It may well be that the game will be scaled down in the Android and iOS ports, but at present there’s no further information either from publisher Square Enix or developer CI Games.

It will be interesting to see how well the game translates to touch screen controls.

On the Xbox One, PS4 and PC, the game requires a lot of precision, which is very difficult to achieve on touchscreen devices.

We assume it will be compatible with Android and iOS controllers like the Mad Catz C.T.R.L R or the Logitech Powershell.

We’ll wait for more information about the Lords of the Fallen iOS and Android port before completely juding the decision though.

Android 5.0 Lollipop and iOS 8 have both introduced gaming technology that make it easier to make a AAA console quality game on mobile devices.

So there’s definitely potential for a big modern game to live on such devices.

CI Games also confirmed earlier this week that work has begun on Lords of the Fallen 2, with the developer currently embroiled in “vision and concepts for Lords 2”.
