Smart locks are a neat idea, but the more security-conscious of us are more than justified being a bit wary. How do you know your door is locked without turning the key yourself? The Lime Smart Lock has a neat way of letting you lock up.

When you leave the house, just tap the smart lock with your hand. And there you go, it'll lock the door.

It's a simple feature, but adds a bit of reassurance. We've always felt a bit unsure walking away from a car that automatically locks itself, so imagine how we feel leaving all our possessions and loved ones behind a door that we think has probably locked ok.

Other than that, it has all the usual smart lock features. You can unlock it via Bluetooth, so no need to take your phone out of your pocket, just approach and it'll unlock. Or you can use NFC by tapping your handset against the lock. The ability to set temporary passcodes is a great addition, meaning you can let guests or friends in when you're out. It will also come in handy if you're renting your place out on Airbnb.

If you lose your phone, you can enter the PIN yourself to get in.
