Earlier this week we showed some leaked screenshots purporting to be from the HTC Endeavor, a Tegra 3 smartphone due to launch at Mobile World Congress. Now it appears as if it will be joined by a device from LG which will also be powered by the quad-core chip from Nvidia.

MoDaCo has spoken to a source at LG and managed to get it hands on some screenshots from the LG X3 (codenamed P880) which give us some insight into what we can expect to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress at the end of the month.

The LG X3, which will take the baton from the Optimus 2X as LG’s flagship smartphone for 2012, will have a 4.7in HD display with a resolution of 720x1280 pixels. It will, as we said, be powered by the quad-core Tegra 3 processor, running at 1.5GHz when using a single core and 1.4GHz when using 2-4 cores. Of course there is also the fifth, companion core for the idle tasks to save battery life.

The LG X3 will also have 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded using the microSD card slot. There will be an 8 megapixel camera on the rear with an ultra-fast shutter, combined with a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

As you would expect from the flagship device from LG, this phone will come with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.3) preloaded. The LG X3 is also said to have a 2,000mAh battery on board which, in combination with the more energy efficient Tegra 3 CPU, should mean a decent battery life.

The screenshots also show the LG X3’s superb Quadrant benchmark result of 4412 which easily beats the best score reached so far by the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

The LG X3 is set to be one of the leading phones of 2012, so is it one you are looking forward to getting your hands on? Let us know in the comments.
