LG Watch Urbane available now on Google Store

The LG Watch Urbane smartwatch is now available to buy on the Google Store website.

LG’s stylish, fashion-forward Android Wear device debuted at MWC 2015 in March, marking a clear step up towards a more serious design.

Now it’s available to order through Google’s online store, priced at £259, with deliveries set to commence before May 8. That’s a little more than most other Android Wear watches, which tend to hover around the £200 mark, but the LG Watch Urbane is built slightly differently.

This one looks far more like a classic watch than even the LG G Watch R before it. It’s got a solid metallic round face (in a silver or gold finish) and a real leather strap that can be swapped with other 22mm straps.

Otherwise, the LG Watch Urbane is pretty much the same device as the aforementioned LG G Watch R. It’s got the same 1.3-inch P-OLED display with a 320 x 320 resolution, and the same 1.2GHZ Snapdragon 400 CPU backed by 512MB of RAM.

You get 4GB of storage, and you also get the G Watch R’s light-based optical heart rate sensor on the back.

Too expensive for you? Then you should note that with the arrival of this new device to the Google Store, Android Wear’s former fashion star has received a tempting price cut. The Moto 360 is being discounted to £159.99 at the checkout – a saving of £40, and £100 less than the LG Watch Urbane.
