LG has just revealed a brand new 84-inch monster of a TV with a 4K Ultra High Definition resolution. It should be available in Europe some time from September.

The new set sports a whopping 3840x2160 Ultra High Definition resolution. We've seen this 4K resolution, as it's often referred to, in the likes of the Toshiba 55ZL2. However, at 84-inches, the new LG UD 3D TV has around twice the viewing area of that particular set.

This extra space will come at a similarly proportioned increase in cost, too. Its 25 million won price tag in its native South Korea translates to around £13,950 - double the price of the Toshiba.

As you may have guessed, the 4K market is still pretty new, and there isn't a great deal of content that takes advantage of it. LG acknowledges this in its press release for the new set: “The 4K display market is still in its infancy but it was important for LG to claim a stake in this space,” said Havis Kwon, President and CEO of LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company.

As you'd expect from a current high end UHDTV, the LG UD 3D TV also supports 3D and Smart TV features. On the sound front, it features "a 2.2 Speaker System consisting of two 10W speakers and two 15W woofers."

The LG UD 3D TV will start rolling out in the rest of the world from September, and will be on display at IFA 2012 in Berlin from August 29.
