LG has unveiled the LG Touch 10 ET83 monitor with full 10-point touchscreen capability, making it the ideal monitor for Microsoft Windows 8 users.

Indeed, LG claims in its press release (as revealed on the official LG UK blog) that the LG Touch 10 ET83 has been "optimized for use with Windows 8, which was launched by Microsoft last week."

The LG Touch 10 ET83 is a 23-inch touchscreen IPS LCD computer monitor, but the key innovation is in the nature of that touchscreen technology. Whilst many touch-capable monitors allow for two-finger dragging and pinching gestures, the LG Touch 10 ET83 allows for all ten of your fingers to be employed simultaneously.

LG believes that the widespread acceptance of sophisticated smartphone and tablet touchscreen interaction in devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the iPad will have primed people for similar usage on their desktop computers.

LG cites a couple of possible applications for this 10-finger technology - "rotating multiple items simultaneously" and taking "advantage of Windows 8 features, including the on-screen keyboard," as well as "musical applications featuring virtual pianos, synthesizers and string instruments."

For even more touch precision, LG supplies a pen-like capacitive stylus, which can be purchased separately.

As the Windows 8 OS has been designed with tablets firmly in mind, there are a growing number of touch-enabled applications in the Windows Store that should work well with the LG Touch 10 ET83.

The LG Touch 10 ET83 will be available in Korea some time in November, followed by "markets in Europe and elsewhere."
