Mobile World Congress doesn't kick off until Sunday, but already LG has revealed what it has in store. We've seen the G5 (well, its case, anyway) and two mid-range smartphones, and now comes a pair of headphones that looks straight out of Star Trek.
The LG Tone Platinum isn't your usual pair of Bluetooth headphones. It comes with a strange case that sits around your neck, sort of like a necklace (albeit one made of plastic). The actual in-ear headphones are housed inside this, and the cord extends to reach your ears. We would imagine the case would be constantly pulling them down, so we're not sure how comfortable they would be to wear. Though we haven't tried them yet, so can't say for certain.
It's made with hi-fi company Harmon Kardon, and features the Bluetooth aptX codec, meaning it can take high-res audio without any loss in quality. That should mean you get CD-like quality through the earbuds.
Each also features noise-cancelling microphones to block out background noise. And it doubles as a handsfree kit, so you can make calls without fishing your phone out of your pocket or bag.

Also onboard is LG's Voice Command technology, which lets you handle incoming calls just by speaking.
It will go on sale in the US in March, and come to Europe, Asia and Latin America soon after. Check back for an ears-on review at MWC next week.
