LG as confirmed that it has a world’s first planned for CES 2014, with the Korean manufacturer announcing it will unveil a 105-inch curved Ultra HD TV with a 21:9 aspect ratio.
It what is shaping up to be the ultimate TV for movie buffs with a few quid to spare, LG has announced that the 105-inch curved Ultra HD monster will be officially showcased during the Las Vegas based tech convention on January 7.
“LG Display has kept its dominant position in the display market with innovative and differentiated technologies,” Yong-kee Hwang, Senior Vice President and head of LG Display’s TV Business Unit said.

Set to be dubbed the LG 105UB9, the 105-inch curved TV will play host to a 21:9 CinemaScope display with a stunning 5120 x 2160 pixel Ultra HD resolution.
Given the TV’s size, LG has confirmed that it has been forced to develop a number of new technologies to allow the sizeable panel to curve. Having refined its TFT circuitry the company has stated that the 105UB9 will off uniform colours and brightness.
“We’re proud to reveal our 105-inch CURVED ULTRA HD TV at the world’s largest technology event,” In-kyu Lee, Vice President and head of the Home Entertainment Company’s TV division at LG Electronics stated.
He added: “Claiming the world’s first and the world’s largest titles, LG’s 105UB9 employs cutting-edge technology to provide a truly unique viewing experience. We will continue to drive the next generation TV market and demonstrate that with LG, it’s all possible.”
CES 2014 will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada between Tuesday January 7 and Friday January 10 although a number of major announcements will be made to the press on Monday January 6.
