LG to build Nexus 5 smartphone after all with design based on G2?

A G2-inspired Nexus 5 on the way?

Nexus 4-maker LG has been selected to build the follow-up Google Nexus 5 smartphone, according to reports, despite rumours suggesting Motorola had been enlisted to manufacture the device.

Word from LG's Korean homeland is that a Nexus 5 will launch come in October, with a design loosely based on the just-announced LG G2 smartphone.

According to the MyDrivers website, the Nexus 5 will arrive packing a full HD 5.2-inch screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor (the 800 SoC would be too expensive, the site claims), 2GB RAM, a 10-megapixel camera and 16GB/32GB of storage

Significantly, the report claims the device will keep the same, insanely-low price-tag that made the Nexus 4 a hugely sought-after, often hard to obtain device.

If reports that the G2 would be the design inspiration for the next Nexus, it would be interesting to see if the rear-facing buttons were included also. So far the feature has been split opinion and has been labelled a gimmick in some quarters.

The possibility of an LG Nexus 5 seemed nailed on a few months back, following the success of the Nexus 4.

However, back in May, LG flatly denied it was working on the device and recent rumours have strongly suggested Google's own Motorola company would be thrust back into the spotlight with a new Nexus device.

I received the Nexus 8gig smartphone as a gift and am wondering if the keyboard on the phone is customizable. I would like to change it to the French Canada keyboard, and I would also like to have the Euro symbol on the keyboard. Is that at all possible? Otherwise, it will be returned or sold on Ebay or Craigs list. I need a phone, that I use for calendar, calculator, and emails that I send to Latin America and to France.

Is the keyboard configurable?
