Images of the next Google Nexus smartphone, set to be built by LG, have been released onto the internet. Now we know pretty much everything about the Android flagship’s hardware.

Yesterday we brought you news of the LG Nexus’s specs, which have been confirmed by various leaks and benchmarks.

The LG Nexus will sport a quad core Snapdragon S4 processor - since confirmed to be clocked at 1.5GHz - with an Adreno 320 GPU, as well as 2GB of RAM, a 1280 x 768 True-HD IPS screen and an 8 megapixel camera.

It’ll apparently run on an updated version of Android, dubbed 4.2.

So the new Nexus will be competitive with the current top-end of the Android market on specs. This follows the trend set by the previous two Nexus devices, which have tended to reflect rather than lead the Android field at the time of their release.

Now we also know what the LG Nexus looks like, it seems. These initial snaps, reported by PocketNow, show a subtle evolution of last year’s Samsung Galaxy Nexus design. The tapered curve of the corners, in particular, is very familiar.

The title image, meanwhile, was reported yesterday on the XDA-Developers forums. Apparently a prototype, it gives us a look at the phone running the Android 4.2 homescreen. Yep, it all looks very Samsung Galaxy Nexus, doesn’t it?

Reports (and experience) suggest that the next Nexus device will be released some time in November, so we could well see a launch event some time this month.

What will be really interesting is to see whether LG’s is the only Nexus device of 2012. Persistent rumours suggest that there may be multiple Nexus phones from several different manufacturers.
