LG G4 Note rumoured as iPhone 6 Plus challenger

A new report out of Korea suggests LG is planning to shake up the phablet market with its own supersize smartphone, the LG G4 Note.

According to the Korea Herald, sources revealed LG is already working on the phablet, and hopes to battle Samsung’s Note series and the iPhone 6 Plus.

It’s also reported that LG has already applied for a trademark for the device at Korea’s patent authority.

The company’s CEO Cho Ju-no apparently confirmed that a high-end device would launch in the second half of the year, and the G4 Note is a likely contender for the slot.

This wouldn’t be the first phablet launched by the Korean firm however; we’ve already seen the Optimus G Pro and the G Pro 2.

The report, however, claims that renewed confidence in the high-end market from the success of the LG G3 means the firm is willing to give two-stream launches a second chance.

LG has yet to make any official statements on the matter, so we’ll have to settle for vague rumours for now.

Fortunately, we’ll get some idea of what to expect from a possible LG G4 Note from the LG G4 launch next month.

The fast-approaching device is expected to carry Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 810 chip, as well as Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
