LG G4 Mini listed by retailer ahead of June release

Ahead of the LG G4’s imminent UK release, a sub-sized spin-off to the flagship phone has leaked online.

Following industry trends, LG has been tipped to back-up the high-end G4 with a smaller, more specs-restrictive device, dubbed the LG G4 Mini.

Spotted on the stock list of the Hungarian arm of Vodafone, the LG G4 Mini has been mooted for a June release.

The handset’s flagship sibling is set to hit UK retailers later this month as a direct rival to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and HTC One M9.

Despite its ‘Mini’ moniker, don’t expect the G4 spin-off to be on the small side.

Citing unnamed ‘insider sources’, PhoneArena has claimed the handset will boast a 5-inch, 720p HD display.

Although significantly smaller than the 5.5-inch G4, this still substantial size will see the handset line up larger than Apple’s leading smartphone, the 4.7-inch iPhone 6.

As well as scaling down in size, the G4 Mini will reportedly feature an array of stripped-back specs.

It has been suggested that the device will pair a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage – expandable via microSD.

Further features expected to feature on the G4 Mini include a 13-megapixel primary camera and Google’s latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.

It is currently unclear whether or not the G4 Mini will echo its big brother and be offered with a leather-backed design.
