The new LG G4 could prove to be even pricier than current high-end Android smartphone champ, the Samsung Galaxy S6.
In recent weeks, LG has been relentlessly feeding us morsels of information concerning its next flagship phone. It’s going to be notable on both design and technical fronts.
Of course, such advanced engineering comes at a price. According to South Korea’s ETNews, the LG G4 will retail for $825 when it hits shops following its April 28 announcement.
The conversation rate for that doesn’t matter so much here, as there won’t be a direct correllation here in the UK and Europe. All you need to know is that this price is $30 more than that of the Samsung Galaxy S6. “Prices are yet to be confirmed, but will stay within that range,” said an LG official.
Of course, this would still bring the LG G4 in at a considerably cheaper price than the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, which is the current high water mark at $908.
According to that same LG Electronics official, this is precisely the handset we should be comparing the LG G4 too rather than the S6 or the iPhone 6. “The comparison target is Edge because the best camera, natural leather, etc. are used,” they said.

We already know that the LG G4 will feature an advanced 5.5-inch QHD IPS Quantum Display screen, which will be significantly brighter than previous efforts. It will also have a 16-megapixel camera with a large six-lens optical module and a bright f/1.8 aperture.
Then there’s the LG G4’s design, which will see the rear cover coated in real leather.
It’s all sounding like a notable step up from last year’s favourite, the LG G3 – but then, that phone can now be picked up for around the £300 mark.
