LG has sent out the press invites for the LG G3 launch, which will happen on May 27.

It looks like the LG G3 will be officially announced very soon, according to freshly released press invites for a launch event happening in six cities across the world.

The LG G3 launch will take place on May 27 in London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Istanbul and Seoul, giving pretty much the whole world a good look at the 2014 flagship.

Earlier this week LG inadvertently confirmed the LG G3 would arrive in Q2, suggesting the release date will happen before the end of June.

“Higher revenues are expected in the second quarter with the release of the flagship LG G3 smartphone and wider roll-out of the mass-tier L Series III,” said the company in its Q1 financial reports.

It also looks like the LG G Watch will touch down at the same time as the LG G3. The Android Wear powered smartwatch was announced last month with a release date sometime in Q2 as well.

However, the French media claim the LG G Watch will arrive in stores from June.

“LG France confirms that the G Watch shows availability in our region in the month of June, and costs only €199,” said Les Numeriques.

We’d be very surprised if LG doesn’t release the LG G Watch at the same time as the LG G3, so expect to see a lot more information on the smartwatch at the May 27 event.

A full specs sheet isn’t yet available for the LG G Watch, but we know it’ll be available in two colours -  Stealth Black and Champagne Gold. It will also be dust and water resistant and feature an always-on screen for easily glanceable information.
