The LG G2 won’t feature a fingerprint reader as some had hoped, confirmed by a leaked manual for the upcoming smartphone.

Ahead of its official launch on Wednesday, August 7, a manual for the LG G2 has leaked online, revealing that some of the rumoured features won’t make the cut after all.

The manual comes courtesy of French website, Nowhereelse.fr, and confirms that the button between the volume rockers on the rear of the device isn’t a fingerprint scanner as many thought.

In fact, the rear button is merely the power and lock button for the device, rather than any fancy new tech feature.

Like the iPhone 5 and recently unveiled US exclusive Moto X, the LG G2 has a nano-SIM slot, in keeping with its slim aesthetics, which was also revealed by the leaked manual.

LG G2 Features

Pretty much all the specs for the LG G2 have leaked online already, including the 5.2-inch 1080p HD screen, which could potentially be the world’s thinnest Full HD panel unveiled by LG in July.

LG has already confirmed the LG G2 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, making it around 75 per cent better in performance than its predecessor, the LG Optimus G. It will also make it more powerful than the Sony Xperia Z and Google Nexus 4 which both also run the Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU.

The LG G2 will reportedly feature a removable 2610mAh battery and will offer microSD expandable internal storage.

Tipped to have a 13-megapixel camera in the rear, the LG G2 may also play host to optical image stabilisation.

LG G2 cases were unveiled last week ahead of the official launch, called QuickWindow. These cases allow users to view selected content through a cut-out window in the front panel.

Functioning in a similar way to the Samsung S View Covers for the Samsung Galaxy S4, LG G2 owners will be able to choose what they view through the window. Whether it’s the weather, fitness updates, music apps, incoming calls or the time will be up to them.

TrustedReviews will be at the New York LG G2 unveiling on Wednesday, August 7, so stay tuned for all the official news.
