LG G Pad tablet line launches in the UK
Three new LG G Pad tablets are heading to the UK as LG strikes up a retailer partnership with high street giant John Lewis.
Announced earlier this year, the LG G Pad 7.0, LG G Pad 8.0 and LG G Pad 10.1 – named after their respective 7-inch, 8-inch and 10.1-inch screen sizes – will launch through the retailer later this month.
All powered by Android 4.4, KitKat and running identical 1.2GHz quad-core processors, the tablet trio offer consumers a range of choice over the ideal screen size for their needs. The tablets’ 1GB of RAM and 1.3-megapixel forward-facing cameras are also carried across the range.
The similarities don’t stop their either. Despite their varying screen sizes, the three devices all sport 1280 x 800 pixel resolutions.
While this should be ample on the 7-inch and 8-inch models, stretching the same resolution over a 10.1-inch panel could produce a less than impressive viewing experience.

He added: “Whether you require a larger screened device for an immersive home viewing experience or a more compact and portable device that puts your favourite content in your hands whilst on the move, LG’s G Pad Series has a device for you.”
The main differences between the three tablets surround their respective batteries. While the LG G Pad 7.0 packs a 4000mAh power supply the G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1 cram in 4200mAh and 8000mAh batteries respectively.
Speaking on the new partnership, John Lewis Tablets Buyer Will Jones stated: “We pride ourselves on always striving to offer our customers the very best technology and experiences at every price point.”
He added: “We recognise that the LG G Pad Series combines benefit-driven software and sleek hardware for an improved viewing experience, with a price point that won’t break the bank.”
Although exact pricing has yet to be confirmed, we have contacted LG for details on how much the three G Pad offerings will set you back. We will update this post accordingly as soon as we hear back.
