LG G Flex coming to Europe February 2014

LG has confirmed that the LG G Flex will arrive in the UK in February 2014, with the flexible smartphone being showcased by EE until then.

EE and LG Mobile are giving UK smartphone fans a chance to try out the LG G Flex before it is officially launched in February 2014.

The G Flex, LG’s first flexible and curved display smartphone, will be showcased in select EE stores to give consumers an opportunity to see the technology first hand.

“LG is renowned for its technical innovation so we’re pleased to be working with them to bring the G Flex to UK consumers”, said Sharon Meadows, Director of Devices at EE.

The LG G Flex has a flexible 6-inch OLED display with an unusual banana-like bend from top to bottom.

It has a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU with 2GB of RAM. It features a 13-megapixel rear camera and runs on a 3,500mAh battery.

The G Flex also offers LG’s self-healing technology through an elastic coating on the rear of the smartphone. It is capable of absorbing “minor scratches and nicks” in under a minute.

“There’s been so much excitement about the LG G Flex since we announced it in October, so we’re thrilled to be working with 4G pioneers EE, to bring it to UK consumers. “Looking ahead, the LG G Flex also points the way for some of the most exciting developments in technology over the next few years, as phones become increasingly adapted to their users.”

The LG G Flex will be on display in 10 EE stores from Friday, December 20:

London –Westfield White City
