LG G Flex 2 release date for UK revealed

It is now confirmed that the LG G Flex 2 will be landing on UK store shelves starting March 19.

Carphone Warehouse says it will be stocking the device in store from that date, but customers will be able to pre-order the bendy blower as early as February 28.

The retailer is also letting customers pre-register for the device from today, which means they’ll get a reminder once pre-order date rolls around.

LG announced its latest chassis-curving smartphone at CES, the tech tradeshow spectactular that took place in Las Vegas earlier this month.

A successor to the original LG G Flex, the G Flex 2 looks to carry on the torch of purposefully bent handsets.

It makes use of LG’s P-OLED capacitive touchscreen, spread across 5.5-inches of display real estate, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

Perhaps the headlining feature of the device is the chip, which has been outed as Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 810. This makes the G Flex 2 a forerunner carrier for the SoC.

The Snapdragon 810 brings with it Adreno 430 graphics, a Cat. 9 LTE-supporting modem, a built-in killswitch for boosted security, and 64-bit architecture.

Also on board is a 3GB RAM module, 32GB built-in storage, and a microSD slot good for 128GB of capacity boost.

The phone also makes use of a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 2.1-megapixel front-facing sensor, and LG’s self-healing plastic back-plate.

There’s still no word on pricing yet, but considering its predecessor marked up at £649.99, we’re expecting a similarly wallet-chunking price tag.
