LG 105-inch curved TV price announced

LG has announced further details on its 2014 TV line-up at CES, including the monstrous 105-inch curved OLED TV.

The South Korean company has announced the pricing and release dates of all its new TVs due to launch in 2014.

First, the 105-inch curved OLED TV will launch with a whopping RRP of $70,000 (£43,000), but seeing as it has a screen resolution 5120 x 2160p you have to expect to pay for all those pixels. There’s no specific release date or time scale at the moment for this gigantic panel.

If you prefer the sound of the LG 77-inch curved Ultra HD model, which will be available in the second quarter of this year. The 77-inch TV combines an ultra high resolution panel with a high dynamic range algorithm for what should be a pretty impressive picture.

This 77-inch has a pretty wallet curdling price of $29,999 (£18,000) too though, so be prepared to start saving.

“Our newest ULTRA HD TV offerings are going to turn a lot of heads at this year’s CES,” said Inkyu Lee, Senior Vice President and head of the TV Division at LG Electronics’ Home Entertainment Company. “Image quality is simply outstanding, and consumers are recognising LG as a trend setter in Ultra HD technology and a leader in moving the 4K medium forward.”

LG also has a range of Gallery OLED TVs available, which will start launching in the US. The 55-inch EA8800 will be available for the price of $8,999 (£5,500), which seems a little more affordable than the curved OLEDs.
