Can't afford to lose this one down the back of the sofa.
I’m a sucker for memory keys. I know it isn’t exactly like having a penchant for Harley restoration (I do have an unhealthy obsession for Latin American models) but the idea of fast, capacious, ultra portable storage is like a drug that screams ”more, more, more” and Lexar has just provided me with my latest fix.
While they can’t hold a candle to either Sony’s Tinys (30 x 14.5 x 2.7mm) or Kingmax’s Super Stick (39 x 12 x 2mm), Lexar’s still teeny JumpDrive FireFly range (49.7 x 20.75 x 10.5mm) has twice the capacity of either line making it the world’s smallest 4GB memory key.
Google Desktop, Toolbar and Picasa software is included on the drive, which is also available in a colour coded range of alternative capacities: 256MB (Red), 512MB (green), 1GB (blue), 2GB (black) as well as the white four gig-er. At this point I’d like to thank Lexar for not using descriptions such as indigo, cerise, magenta and other colours my xy chromosomes stop me from remembering. Oh and if you haven’t worked it out yet the ‘FireFly’ in the name comes from their cute glowing behinds that flicker when the keys are accessed.
All these little fellas come with two year warranties, hit the streets now and cost just $25, $29.99, $49.99, $99.99 and $189.99 respectively.
So: On your marks… Get set… ”Lose It Somewhere”.
